The town of Shrule has much to offer the visitor , being
centrally located for trips to Mayo and Galway . Shrule is also close
to Cong and Connemara if you like sightseeing . The town is within easy
reach of Lough Mask and Lough Corrib and with four pubs and a hackney
service you can't go wrong !

Attractions
The ruins of six Norman castles can be found in the parish.
The Normans made Shrule a market town, which stayed as such until the
twentieth century, the last fairs and marts being held in the 1960s
On the eastern half of the parish we can find about 30
ring forts and a crannog so there are many interesting things to see in
the area.
