\"J.F.<\/a>J.F. Quinn was born in Aclare , Co.Sligo in 1875 . He worked for two newspapers in Mayo in the 20’s and 30’s first as the editor of the Connaught Telegraph and second The Western People.<\/p>\n

He lived and worked on the History of Mayo articles from his home for most of his life in Castlebar where he died in 1953.<\/p>\n

The articles relating to Mayo history appeared in the Western People from 1931 to 1939 and are being published by that paper again lately.<\/p>\n

The entire work has been edited and printed in book form by his son Brendan in the 1990’s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
